„SONGS & WHISPERS“ – CIRCUIT 06/2016

Georgina Ward is an Australian Singer/Songwriter. In 2015 she released her Debut Album Matters of the Heart. Germany’s Songs and Whispers Tour will be the first of her European performances.
Georgina’s ethereal angelic voice soars effortlessly through her original repertoire of Pop / Rock and Ballads.
Georgina will be accompanied by her acoustic guitarist and vocalist Ripley Smith, together their voices highlight her songs brilliantly. Also joining her is record producer Danny Simcic. Danny is probably best known as drummer and co-writer of the legendary band Real Life, that reached international success with songs “Send Me an Angel”, “Catch Me I’m Falling” and “God Tonight”. In 2009 Georgina and Danny began writing and demoing songs, of which many where to find a home on Georgina's current album ‘Matters of the Heart’. For some shows he will be joining Georgina and Ripley on percussion.
Coming from Celtic roots Georgina chooses to embrace her musical heritage, who's influence can at times be heard on her current album

Influences: Florence and the Machine, Eurythmics, Bats for Lashes, Abba, Burt Bacharach, Karen Carpenter, Groove Armada.

Nach jahrelanger Feinarbeit stand 2015 die Veröffentlichung ihres Debüt-Albums Matters of the Heart an.

Einflüsse: Florence and the Machine, Eurythmics, Bats for Lashes, Abba, Burt Bacharach, Karen Carpenter, Groove Armada.

PRESS QUOTES:

“Brian Laidlaw is a poet of tremendous lyric gifts and emotive modulation, full of jubilance and unwavering freshness. The associative technique in each of these missives corkscrews and swerves through the broken world with dispatches of yearning, growing these big-hearted and fearless experiments of structure and voices into a gorgeously raw-throated orchestra.” - Alex Lemon, author of The Wish Book and Happy: A Memoir

“These musicians love to play, and the joy they so clearly take from their art is contagious.” - MNartists.org

“Laidlaw’s lyrics lay out smooth against the background of so many strings, ebbing and flowing with each crescendo and diminuendo. Their folksy jams are songs you can sing along to after only one listen... An ethereal gift to the eardrums.” - Paper Darts Magazine

“[Laidlaw’s] deft take on the indie folk sound is appealing, no doubt, but his lyrics — intelligent, sometimes poignant, sometimes witty and often unabashedly and refreshingly earnest — are what have driven me to seek out more of his work.” - Susannah Schouweiler, Knight Arts

www.fastheartmart.com

Born Martin Stamper, he became "Fast Heart Mart" when he passed out and died a few times and was finally diagnosed with a heart condition that makes his heart fibrillate or race. Don't worry, he now has a defibrillator that shocks his heart back into beating and he can keep singing songs. His music is very interesting and funny. Fast Heart Mart sings, plays guitar, banjo and harmonica sometimes by myself (solo) and sometimes with a band. His music is a blend of rock-folk-punk-old time country-raga OR Sonic Folk-Rock for short.
Established in 1999, Fast Heart Mart toured a lot in his Volkswagen Vanagon (32,000 miles on vegetable oil), playing shows from coast to coast in the USA, toured both islands of New Zealand, released about 10 albums, and opened for some really great musical acts, such as The Handsome and Beck.
Fast Heart Mart has come to believe that his heart condition lead him on his path of spirituality and art. Originally from Virginia, Fast Heart Mart lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico for 14 years, then in August of 2013 he moved to San Diego, CA where he is currently happily residing.

Influences: Bill Monroe, Doc Watson, Clarence Ashley, The Handsome Family, Beck, Nirvana, The Violent Femmes, Nathan Payne, Tori Amos, Rod Lacy, Woodie Guthrie, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Elliot Smith, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, The Beastie Boys, Dock Boggs, Roscoe Holcomb, John Prine, The Old Crow Medicine Show, Mason Jennings, Modest Mouse
